WHILE WE ARE PLAYING WITH CARDS..

Hello everyone,

Firstly, thank you so very much for your wonderful comments on my playing card project, it was a labour of love and enjoyment, and time didn't really enter into it, even though there was never enough time,or the body got too tired standing doing it,and too hard to sit in my room..

It was not my original idea I just changed it up a bit, I first saw it on You Tube by Maggie, Sunset Crafts and more..she does al ot of vintage stuff and I'm hooked..[ more expense]

So, moving along...what do you do when you have cards leftover....turn them into shakers, so I did..

I made a tag, cut a hole, and glued a clear shaker card inside..
The shaker bits are very tiny playing cards from Temu..

I always do things backwards, and now it is time to make a background!!!
I had to try the card first in case it went wrong..

So old book page scraps, patterned paper scraps, inking,
and some text stamping..

Then using tiny set of card, I cut them in half..

These are to add to the sides...

Like this..
and at this stage ,
I had added a black flap and punched the hole on the top..

and even smaller strips tucked under the tag,
and a number die with a pretty photo of a lady..
[ I got these  [ photos ] free off the net and out of a very old photo album..]

I made that little tag of numbers, they are too expensive to buy, for what they are, and this hobby is expensive enough and so I made my own, in fact I spent at least 3 hours printing cutting and inking one day to give me a wonderful stash of them...

Time for a topping..

I made circle tags using numbers and vintage stickers
and tied them on with string until my ball chain arrives then I'm
going to learn to make dangles, that will be another post altogether...

So there you go..
I didn't stop here with the shakers either, again, another post..

Thank you so much for stopping by,
I'll be back tomorrow, so see you then..
Have a fabulous week...I know I will, postie coming, whoop whoop..

PART TWO OF THE BIGGIE..

 Hello everyone,

Back with part two of my deck of cards this time with Diamonds and Spades..and the boxes I mad efor them to sit in..

Well, the Diamonds, I had to throw a bit of nautical in there didn't I..

I used mainly die cuts, the odd sticker, and the edges were left clean..

I think I was zoned out on something else and just forgot,
but they look nice and clean..

haven't seen Stanley for awhile, so popped him in place..

Holly dropped to say hi.. and spread my stuff all over ethe place..

then the edges got to me, so out came the blues and greens washi tapes..

Much better...

then a few vintage stickers...

and they were done...

next up were the Spades and they had book pages
ripped into tiny bits on their frames..

and these are my images. famous people, actors,
remember Kenneth Willams from the Carry on movies..
and Marcus Welby MD..cannot remember his real name..

A few more faces I know but cannot remember names..
but they got stickered as well..

these stickers were vellum and they peeled so well,
but I added them to card stock to make them stronger as they were bigger..
then I could add smaller bits and the photo on top..

The number three, to the left, is a new die and becoming very popular in my room..

and nearly done, just need to crown the King..

DONE!!..

and a few more pictures, not long to go...
Making some boxes..

I love to make boxes and quite often get the measurement wrong in my head,
 but these worked perfectly..

Each set nestled in just right...

I made four...

sorting papers to cover them..

Finally went with the scripty papers..

and inked up their edges..

It does make a difference..

then they were done..

I used those business cards I was given and wrapped them to make a 'card' for
the top the added a miniature card on  top of that....

Four boxes for four sets of altered cards..

Lids off..

and here we have the final picture..

all 52 double sided altered deck of cards.

I hope you had fun and thank you so much for stopping by and getting to the end of these 2 big posts..
I appreciate it hugely..

I'll see you Monday..

NEXT UP IS A BIGGIE..

 Hello everyone,

Time to share my biggest project ever I think, and let's see if I would do it again, and the answer is yes, I will do another and maybe another as I have ideas floating through my head, it is a wonder I sleep at night.. so here we go..and it's a biggie post as well as project..

No, I did not take up playing poker as I get too excited and let everyone know what I'm holding, but I did buy 2 decks of cards and used them all..

I cut the center out, as best as I could, from the middle of the two sets..

And carefully looked after them in cellophane bags until I knew I was ready..

Then when that time came round, I glued a cellophane window on one card, then glued it's matching self onto other side and sandwiched that cellophane in..

You can see here...

inking the edges didn't work as I forgot to lightly sand the cards,
so the ink would stick better, so as I get frustrated at times,
 I used my markers..lol..

Washi tape and a bit of grunge and I was on my way..

For the hearts set, which this is,
I played with Tim Holtz mini paper dolls, I really enjoy them now,and
make little stories about them, not out loud, just in my head..

For my first time using them I didn't do too bad, although this fellow should have been leaning on something

I found some mushrooms stickers to add, added them on wrong side, he could have been leaning on them,
but hey ho, learn as you go..

So, there's the first two..

lots os stickers and things to add interest..

moved onto #3

Then #4

reached #8

back to #7

I like #5

added a fern on #8

and finally I reached the end..
Thirteen cards all done and dusted and ready for next set...

Gosh, I had such a wonderful time, I very nearly didn't eat and the right eating time in my house as I was so wrapped up in what I was doing..

Can you handle another set in this post....

Time for the clubs, and this time I went on a toadstool spree..

Same beginning...washi tape and inking..

and also these gorgeous vintage stamps I found at Temu..

My toadstools are die cut and the caps were separate
and glued on top..I love them..

So here we go gluing toadstools and caps and putting them on the cards..

Then the thought hit me, too much red,
I needed colours to go with my stamps, so.....

I die cut caps in Yellow, Green, and  Orange.
no purple as I could have headed to Halloween and didn't want that..

so a few stickers too here and there...

and looking good..
[ you know how I love my mushrooms and toadstools]

and then we had a set of clubs..I love these ones..

Well, my word, that was a lot to take in, so I'll be back probably [my] Sunday with the next two set..
I hope you enjoyed these as much as I had making them and can't wait to show the next lot..
Thank you so much for stopping by..
I'll you in a couple of days..
